General Information
Cala San Vincente is a fishing village which lies about 35 miles from the airport at Palma. From good standard hotel and apartment accommodation, you can stroll down to the main beach where you will find a small amount of water sports on offer. There are a couple of smaller beaches here and some decent shopping. This resort tends to cater for the more mature traveller and families. At night the hotels provide most of the entertainment, this is a rather quiet resort, not for someone looking for a great deal of night life.
Food
Quiet and relaxing restaurants are the order of the day here, with a good choice in local dishes. Albendigos (spicy meatballs), Rabo de Toro (oxtail with onions and spices) and the fish specials Calamari (squid in batter) and Sopa de Pescado (fish stew in garlic and tomatoes) are all worth a try. The local beers are very good value as are the many wines on offer, with the obligatory Sangria found everywhere. You might struggle to find fast food style cooking here, but the version available in the bars and pubs is quite edible. and all served with chips and a great salad.
